This gorgeous twine is handmade from hemp fibre.
After collecting hemp from the local market, the artisans clean and comb the hemp, dyeing some of the hemp yellow and leaving the rest natural. After drying in the sun the hemp then goes through the hand spinning process to make the twine balls. Each ball of twine takes up to four hours to dye and spin, not including drying time.
This twine has numerous uses around the house, use it in the garden, for wrapping gifts or creative projects. Hand crafted by skilled artisans working with Bagdha Enterprise, who work with Prokritee, one of Trade Aid's fair trade partners in Bangladesh.
