WOW!! The last newsletter for 2024, where did that time go!

November was an exciting month with our first Tawa Storytime at Tawa Community Centre. We celebrated Dame Lisa Carrington's new books with wonderful readings from Tawa College Tauira (Students) Nevaeh and Josh. A wonderful afternoon tea was organised by the Tawa College Kapa Haka group. What a brilliant way to spend a Saturday afternoon, with fundraising going toward the Tawa College Ngā Manu Kōrero speech competition mahi. Ngā mihi nui!!

Next year we are hoping to have more Storytime and fundraising, so keep an eye out for future dates - exciting!

My two favourite YouTube read alongs for this year are Anika Moa's 'The Witch of Maketu' and 'Maestro Evarista's Orchestra' by Raquel Bonita. My 10 year-old niece, who reads aloud to her 7 year-old sister, recommends Andy Griffith's new series 'Adventures Unlimited' as a brilliant read aloud, with the 7 year-old texting “thank you” - 18 times, so thoroughly enjoyed!
